Video Project Manager / Engineer (m/f/d)
Job Description
Video Project Manager / Engineer (m/f/d) – Live Event Production
Some shows are just shows. Others create a world.
If you're the kind of person who knows exactly how to make that happen – from the first technical design to the final breakdown, from LED wall calibration to real-time troubleshooting under pressure – this might be the role you've been looking for.
We're looking for an experienced Video Project Manager / Engineer (m/f/d) to join an international live event production team creating some of the most visually ambitious immersive shows in electronic music today. State-of-the-art video technology. High-profile artists. Global touring. And a project with serious momentum right now.
Are you… …someone who lives at the intersection of cutting-edge video technology and live show production? …self-initiated, technically deep, and able to lead under pressure? …proactive – someone who spots problems before they become show-stoppers? …ready to travel worldwide and thrive on being the technical backbone of a live show? …excited to be part of something that's on its way to the very top?
Then keep reading.
What you'll do
You own the full video journey of each production – from technical concept to post-show review. That means designing systems, managing suppliers and local partners worldwide, leading the team on-site, and making sure everything runs flawlessly when it matters most.
Planning & Technical Design
• Design complete video system layouts: LED walls and processors (e.g. Brompton, Novastar), media servers (e.g. Pixera, Resolume), switchers (e.g. Barco)
• Develop signal flow diagrams, patch sheets, and equipment lists
• Coordinate with lighting, rigging, and audio departments
• Conduct site surveys and advance venue technical requirements
• CAD technical drawings 2D/3D (Vectorworks)
Show Execution – On-Site & Touring
• Technical lead and supervision during set-up and show
• Supervise LED wall installation and calibration
• Set up and manage playback systems
• Real-time troubleshooting of signal issues
• Quality control throughout
Post-Production & Reporting
• Post-show equipment inspections and documentation
• Show reports and improvement recommendations
• Archive show files, configurations, and content backups
• Participate in post-tour debriefs and workflow optimization
Project Management
• End-to-end project management from initiation to closure
• Timelines, budgets, staff planning, and logistics
• Sourcing and coordinating local personnel and equipment at international show locations
• Close daily collaboration with the head project manager
What we're looking for
• 3+ years of experience in video event production
• Strong understanding of LED wall systems and pixel mapping, video signal flow (SDI, NDI, HDMI, fiber), media servers and playback systems, live switching and routing
• Ability to read and create technical drawings and schematics
• Strong troubleshooting skills in high-pressure, live environments
• Fluent English (must); further languages are a plus
• Willingness to travel internationally and work flexible hours
• Valid international driver's license and passport
Our team
This is an open-minded, creative, and communicative international team. Discrimination of any kind is not accepted and we are committed to a diverse, safe, and respectful working environment.
What's in it for you
• Work at the absolute cutting edge of live video production for electronic music • Be part of a project with serious artistic momentum – right now, at the right time
• A small, skilled team where your contribution directly shapes the outcome
• Competitive salary (commensurate with experience), hybrid setup (Berlin base), international touring
If this sounds like your world – we'd love to hear from you.
